Connecting Communities in Berkshire (CCB) is a recognised expert in the provision of rural services, offering a wide range of support to strengthen communities across the county. We work closely with village hall trustees, promote health and wellbeing in rural areas, and address key challenges such as isolation, poverty, and lack of opportunity.

Accessibility to services is a major concern for rural communities, and we collaborate with partners at community, unitary, and regional levels to develop practical, locally driven solutions. Our work includes tackling fuel poverty by providing low-income families with guidance on reducing energy and water bills, and running a collective ‘Oil Club’ to help households save money through bulk purchasing.

We also deliver a Rural Affordable Housing Service, offering free support to rural communities in Berkshire that identify a need for affordable housing for people living, working in, or connected to their area. This service helps ensure that local people can continue to live in the communities they call home.

In addition to our service delivery role, we are also active in advocating for the communities and individuals we work with and use our knowledge of local needs to be able to influence the development of policy and service delivery. If you would like to support our work then becoming a member is a great option.
