Vital for Berkshire funding – open until 25 January 2019

The second Vital for Berkshire funding round is now open for applications, with grants of up to £10,000 available

Vital for Berkshire aims to increase support for people across Berkshire who are struggling to cope with a range of issues preventing them from having a safe home, good health and secure employment.

Vital for Berkshire goes beyond the statistics to uncover areas where pockets of deprivation can be found, and where local communities are struggling. A key message from Berkshire’s Vital Signs 2018 is that a safe home, good health and secure employment are interdependent and underpin wellbeing. Vital for Berkshire will raise awareness and funds, to support community groups that are helping people towards having a safe home, good health and secure employment.

Further information Charities, community groups and social enterprises seeking funding for activities and projects in these areas can complete Berkshire Community Foundation’s online eligibility checker and eligible groups will be sent a link to the application form. The deadline for completed applications is 9am on 25 January 2019.

There is a criticality to the speed of this work and, therefore, the request for quotes will only be open until 29th January at noon.  Invitations to quote are requested only from organisations who completely fit the request criteria and who can deliver across the Thames Valley force area, within a budget envelope and within the given timescale. The bid for Thames Valley included a number of tiers of intervention, some of which are being delivered by existing providers of, for example, youth services.  The interventions that are open for quotes include:

  • Awareness raising theatre production (or similar) on youth violence for every secondary school across the Thames Valley.
