Village Hall Volunteers Gain Confidence Through CCB Training Session

In October we ran a face to face learning session in Beech Hill Memorial Hall, attended by 14 learners.

Kate Meads, Community Buildings Advisor at CCB explained – “Hallmark 2 is a Quality Standard created by our national body Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE)for village halls so that trustees can demonstrate how well they’re running their hall. The Level 2 quality standard focuses on heal and safety, keeping people safe in the hall and licensing.”

After the training one learner commented ‘We are now really clear on what we need to do our end to achieve this standard plus it’s been really nice meeting people from other halls and sharing ideas face to face. It’s been confidence building to help us know we’re doing all the things that we should be.”

Our training this year specifically supports and helps volunteers that run our village halls and community buildings. In 2026 we have training coming up on how to run a village hall for the 21st Century, Legionella and Abestos Risks and we are currently planning training on Martyn’s Law.
